There are so many acronyms and abbreviations.  What do they mean?

AH - audio hour (one hour of audio)

CPL - characters per line

ELS - English as second language (you will normally see this in medical transcription)

ES - Express Scribe (free software you can use to play audio so that you can transcribe it)

GT - general transcription

IC - independent contractor (not an employee of an individual or company)

LT - legal transcription

MT - medical transcription

TAT - turnaround time (how long it takes you to do, say, one hour of audio)
